Accessing Support Files

The tutorial files referred to in the most of the Knowledge Base examples can be installed from the Updates section of support.softree.com or from your CD/Flash Drive provided at time of software purchase. If the files are not available within those data sets, then the article will contain a direct link to the required files to complete the example.

CD or Flash Drive

An Auto-run screen should appear when the RoadEng Civil Engineer install medium is inserted. (If Auto-run is disabled, view the device in Windows Explorer and run the executable manually). Select Install the Tutorial Files.

Web

Go to the Updates page on Softree’s support web sit. locate your product and click the link to download the Tutorial Files installer. Open this file to install. We recommend downloading the .zip files as they contain both the documentation and the tutorial files.

Documents

The tutorial files (data sets) will be installed in the folder below by default: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Softree\Training70\

It is possible to change this folder at install time; you can also copy it to a new location afterwards if you wish.

Defaults and Layouts

The setup and layout files required for the examples are saved in the folder: <Defaults and Layouts>\Training

Where > depends on your operating system and application install. The common location for > is: Windows 7+: C:\ProgramData\Softree\RoadEng

Note: You can always determine the actual folder by running the Terrain Module, selecting menu Module | Setup and clicking on the Install tab.
